Congratulations On Your Wedding
Bantry House and Garden offers a unique location for your special event. We are open to all suggestions and ideas. We have a range of rooms to suit every budget. We offer a personal service and look forward to welcoming you to Bantry House to discuss aspects of your celebration with you in detail. The celebrate pack is a good indicator of pricing and options, however a visit to the house and a meeting with the General Manager, Sophie Shelswell-White, is essential so you can really appreciate the setting and truly unique atmosphere. Please contact us via email and we will send you out our PDF pack
Firstly from all of us here at BH we want to say a big congratulations on what will be a very special day for you both.
Here, we will give you tips, suggestions and recommendations from catering to wedding cakes and everything in between.
To celebrate your wedding at Bantry House is an important event and we want to make it the best day of your life and leave people talking about it for decades later!
Celebrate in style
When thinking about catering for your big day there are many options. We contract in our recommended caterers or are happy to work with one you have in mind.
For an elegant, traditional style sit down dinner look no further than the Maritime Hotel. The hotel is just at the end of our drive. They will give you good rates on accommodation too for some of your wedding party. Fancy taking a chance on the weather and offering your guests a spit roast wood fire? Talk to Ted at Wildside Catering or Fingal at Gubbeen Smokehouse. Carmel Somers of the Good Things Cafe in Durrus will create a local seasonal menu of the best Cork produce you will ever eat. For a late night snack and Mediterranean flavour talk to Maarten of Pizza Base. He cooks fresh woodfired pizzas straight out of his van.
We source our wine, prosecco and champagne from Karwigs Wine Merchants and our beer from 8 degrees. We have a small house list but can order anything you like. BYO is fine with a corkage of €6 per bottle. We do not allow spirits or kegs in the house so it is wine, beer and bubbles for your drinks of choice. Its nice to have some music playing during your drinks reception either inside or outside, why not talk to Gerard Kelly at Cork Pops Orchestra (email: firstname.lastname@example.org) who can provide a 4 person string quartet for the afternoon.
If you're looking for an original wedding cake with style and charm we can highly recommend Sam at Cloudberry Bakery. Organise a meeting and tasting at her shop in Kerry and let her years of experience inspire you to create a truly showstopping cake.
If you fancy the idea of a horse-drawn carriage then we recommend you to contact Sandra Schmid of Horse Power in Ireland - she is available on 087 9389867.
Do you have a theme for the day or want a slightly vintage vibe? Talk to Pearl of Pearl and Godiva; she can rent you beautiful table settings, china and everything else needed – its truly inspiring stuff.
Capturing those unique moments from your day is one of the most important factors to consider. We can highly recommend Kait Husmann, Christina Brosnan, Davitt Vaughan and Adrian Cronin.
