Bantry House 2013 Web development by Lucid Net Designs (www.lucidnetdesigns.com)

Firstly from all of us here at BH we want to say a big congratulations on what will be a very special day for you both.

To celebrate your wedding at Bantry House is an important event and we want to make it the best day you can have so people are talking about it for decades later!

We have the “sensible” celebrate pack which takes you through costings for rental and different areas of the estate which can be used.

Here, we will give you tips, suggestions and recommendations from catering to wedding cakes and everything in between.

When thinking about catering for your big day there are many options.  We contract in our recommended caterers or are happy to work with one you have in mind.

For an elegant, traditional style sit down dinner look no further than the Maritime Hotel.  The hotel is just at the end of our drive.  They will give you good rates on accommodation too for some of your wedding party.  Fancy taking a chance on the weather and offering your guests a spit roast wood fire?  Talk to Ted at Wildside Catering or Fingal at Gubbeen Smokehouse.  Carmel Somers of the Good Things Cafe in Durrus will create a local seasonal menu of the best Cork produce you will ever eat.  For a late night snack and Mediterranean flavour talk to Maarten of Pizza Base.  He cooks fresh woodfired pizzas straight out of his van.

We source our wine, prosecco and champagne from Karwigs Wine Merchants and our beer from 8 degrees.  We have a small house list but can order anything you like.  BYO is fine within limits with a corkage of €6 per bottle.  We do not allow spirits or kegs in the house so it is wine, beer and bubbles for your drinks of choice.

If you are looking to hold your dinner and dancing in a marquee in the stables, i can highly recommend Ger Fitzgibbon of Leisuredome, Co.Cork.

Anything goes with wedding cakes these days and any of the above caterers will happily make the cake of your dreams for you.  Alternatively Sam at Cloudberry Bakery  will inspire you.  Organise a meeting and tasting at her shop in Kerry.

If you fancy the idea of a horse drawn carriage then contact Sandra Schmid of Horse Power in Ireland or ring her 087 9389867

Do you have a theme for the day or want a slightly vintage vibe talk to Pearl of Pearl and Godvia she will can rent you beautiful table settings, china and everything else – its inspiring stuff.

Capturing those unique moments from your day is also important and we can highly recommend Kait HusmannChristina BrosnanDavitt Vaughan and Adrian Cronin.

Please feel free to call or email us for any more information.

Again congratulations!
